If your partner wears a ring frequently, you can borrow it and measure the inside diameter using a millimetre ruler. Take an aerial photo to capture the size. Keep a few things in mind:

  1. Note which finger the ring is worn on. The middle and index fingers are typically larger than the ring finger.
  2. Consider the ring's fit. You want it snug enough that it doesn't spin, but not so tight that it's uncomfortable.
  3. Account for the ring's width. Wider bands require a larger size.

With the ring's interior measurement, we can convert it to your partner's exact ring size. This discreet approach ensures you get the perfect fit without giving away the surprise.

If sneaking a ring away is not an option, consider these alternative approaches.

If your partner doesn't have any rings that you could borrow to determine their ring size, there are several other creative ways to discreetly figure it out.

The first option is to engage someone close to your partner, such as their best friend or mother, who may already know their ring size or have access to that information. These trusted confidants could subtly bring up the topic of engagement rings with your partner and casually suggest trying on a few to get a sense of their preferences and size.

Alternatively, you could take on one of your partner's friends to invite them to go ring shopping together. If the friend is also starting to look at engagement rings, they could use that as a natural segue to get your partner's input and have them try on a few rings to determine their size. When the friend gets their own finger measured, they can suggest that your partner do the same, under the guise of simply comparing sizes for fun.

Another sneaky tactic is to see how a friend or family member's ring fits on your partner's finger. If someone close to you has recently gotten engaged, you could discreetly ask them if they would be willing to casually suggest that your partner try on their ring, again framing it as an exciting, celebratory activity. This can give you a good ballpark estimate of your partner's ring size.

Ultimately, we understand that determining the perfect ring size can be a bit of a challenge, which is why we offer a complimentary first resizing.
